Updates in 2013

Okay okay..... I KNOW it's been a LONG time since I've last blogged. Kind of crazy really because I love it but life just kind of got busy ya know? That's still no excuse.... I need to blog and write down my thoughts and life so my friends and family can keep in touch ;)

So anyways....here's what is happening or has happened in the past months since I last blogged.....warning...it might be a lot to read but there are pictures to keep you entertained as well :)



October 2012:

Had to work on Halloween.... don't worry it wasn't too exciting. I did stop by my adopted family afterwards to see the kids all dressed up. Nothing really to report other than spending time with friends and working a ton ;)

 I've been blessed to be able to go to the temple at least once a month now and it's just so great that I can actually go!!! It's hard moving from having the temple 10 minutes from your house to 3 hours away. But it definitely makes me appreciate the temple more and the blessings that come from going!

I spent Thanksgiving with the Hathenbrucks. They are my adopted family here and I just love them! I wasn't able to go home for the holidays so it was nice to be able to have somewhere to go.

I also spent Christmas with them and I just love these two! Not going to lie....Thanksgiving was hard not being with family...my first time ever by the way away from family (extended included) for the holidays and it was rough but I felt so loved. They made me feel right at home. Christmas was even harder but I am so grateful for the love and kindness this family has show me.

Also spent New Years with them....surprised don't be haha. This isn't the greatest picture but it shows you we like to have a good time ;)

It's always nice to feel appreciated and that's exactly what the Elders Quorum in our Branch did for us! We had a women's appreciation night it was awesome. Of course with friends like Brittney it always is a blast! I just love her!

 This guy is still going strong on the mission and I just love hearing from him and getting pictures!!! I had to add one just so you know he is doing well and having a good time. I just sent him a care package and I'm dying to hear how he liked it. According to Auntie he loved it though so that's good ;)

 I hit my one year mark at work. Weird how fast time has flown by.... I miss these lovely ladies though! I think a little reunion is much needed and soon!

 We've gotten snow... not as much as other places but enough for this Cali girl! This was at work one day.... the most I've ever seen at work and it was falling hard. It was pretty though...just didn't like driving in it!

Okay I hate to admit it but I was sick ALOT this winter. First I got a cold, then got over it and would get another one. Then....got even sicker before I got better. And then something else hit and it was like a never ending process of bad health. Don't worry though I'm doing ALOT better! Minus the allergies but they are under control for the time being. :)

 Got to go tubing with the Branch and it was loads of fun. Next time though I need to remember to bring gloves!! That was a mistake haha but it was fun!

 Went shooting and had a blast!!! Shot my first shot gun ever and it was so cool!!! I'm a newbie at it but it was a blast! I want to go again!

 This lovely lady got her mission call to the Birmingham Alabama mission. I just love her she is fantastic! Our good friend Alissa took pictures of us and we had a blast! Steph kept saying the camera loved her more than me but we all know it was pretty much equal ;)

 I FINALLY got to see my mom and Bret!! They came out for like two days and it was so great just to have them here to visit!! We went to the Four Corners Monument and Bret thought that was pretty neat to stand in 4 places at once!

 I just love this kid! He makes me smile!! I miss him....BUT I get to see him soon so it will be awesome!!

 Breakfast at IHOP before Steph left to report to the MTC. I miss her ALOT but I hear from her weekly so it's good :) I just love her so much!! And I'm so proud of her decision to serve and teach others the Gospel!

 Had a lovely girls night down in Albuquerque. I had a blast with these two. And of course I loved doing two temple sessions while we were there :)

 Okay....I just can't believe my little brother is 18 and his papers are IN! We are just waiting for a call! How crazy is that?! I just love him and he is going to be an awesome missionary!

 I recently went to my first carnival ever.... I know I know. Crazy right?! We have them in Cali all the time and I have never gone!! It was so much fun though! We had a blast!! And I caught some fish!!  It was a blast and of course I was with some pretty awesome people which made it so much fun!!

 That's pretty much the happenings right now. I am in the works of moving into another place with two friends of mine. It's a work in progress only because I may not be able to get out of my lease early but I'm trying to....so we will see what happens :)


In less than 3 weeks I will be going home for a week and a half and I'm SO excited!!! It's been 9 months since I've been home and seen my family all together so I'm EXCITED!!! It will be awesome!!! And I will try to be better at blogging. This blog is probably still going to go private so make sure I know you read this so I can add you to the list when I do make it private! Now it's time for me to clean and get ready for the rest of my day :)

Thank Goodness for Netflix :)

So it's almost 10:30 at night and I don't even feel tired... must be all those naps these past few days that I've taken due to being sick. Let me just say that you know when I'm real sick. It's the kind of sick that makes me sleep all day and hardly eat anything because you just don't feel good type of sick. I had a fever for a couple of days and now I'm feeling much better. I don't get sick very often but when I do, it really sucks. Oops I mean stinks... (in our family, sucks is a bad word lol). 


So besides sleeping this whole last week away, I haven't done much else except read and watch movies. Mind you, most of the time I have been sleeping. See, the thing is, I got really sick in high school and ever since then, my immune system has been a bust. I've worked really hard to boost up my immune system with exercise and eating healthy and most of the time, I don't get sick. This time around though I wasn't so lucky so bam... immune system is shot and I'm sleeping the whole week. Anyhow... enough of my immune system history (probably more info than you need haha) but during my sick days I've gotten to enjoy my free trial of Netflix even more. 


Emily tried to get to me do Netflix a while back and I just kept putting it off. Finally last month I decided I better see what it's all about and you know what, I LOVE it! Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE movies. I don't necessarily love going to the movie theater because it's gross and people are coughing on you etc. So I love watching movies at home. I am part of the Disney Movie Club and I have tons of movies. Anyhow, with Netflix, I can watch movies that I have wanted to see and don't want to spend like five bucks to go rent, so Netflix is a great choice. Amazing! Thanks Emily for recommending it! 


Anyways, this is kind of a random post but I just wanted to write something... I'm currently watching Lord of the Rings... I know long movie but Orlando Bloom is in it so it won't seem too long haha... he looks better in Pirates of the Caribbean so I'm off to finish the first one. I promise one of these days I will get around to posting the remodel, I have to put all the pictures together first and I'm just tired to do it haha... but tomorrow is a new day so maybe then. Hope everyone's weekend is going great and enjoy reading this random post :)

I LOVE Hockey!!!!!!

So last night I went to a hockey game. It was my first one that I had been to in a LONG time. And I was reminded tonight, how much I absolutely love it!  I honestly don't know what it is about the sport but it's amazing! I'm not a violent person, nor will I ever be but seeing hockey players fight is kind of entertaining... I take that back...it is VERY entertaining! It's an intense sport and I am absolutely in love with it. It keeps me entertained the whole time and ...yeah... there are no words to describe how awesome it is. If you have never been to one, I suggest you try it. You most definitely will be entertained the whole time and when you have great friends right there with you, it makes for such a great outing. I really want to take Bret to a game now, and Chad if he wants to. Bret loves hockey (must be those Canadian genes lol) and I think he will enjoy it just as much as I do. I think if I ever got a job and it was in a place that is cold a lot, I would find a place that is near a hockey rink so I could go watch games. I'm serious. I wish I could go to Canada more often to see my cousins play because it's just so great. Alright, I am done writing... just had to let you all know how much I love hockey! Mikey is my favorite person to photograph. Why? Because I like taking random  pictures of people and every random photo I have of him is perfect. It was his first hockey game so he was watching intensely.

The end of facebook and the beginning of something new :)

Starting January 1, 2011 I will be deleting my facebook account. For anyone who would like to stay in contact with me, you can reach me here on the blog or at noey04_kt@hotmail.com or of course on my phone (and no I’m not writing that on here).  Sure a blog is not as easy as a facebook page where you can what everybody is up to every few hours but I think I might actually like this blog thing once I get the hang of it. Sure blogs may be going out of style and so what if they are. It’s still a place I can share moments of my life with friends and family. 

It will be hard once I actually delete my account of facebook but those days are so over. Some have asked why I have decided to end my account and I don’t really have a specific answer. I just feel like it’s the right thing to do and so I’m acting upon it. Some think I may not be able to stick it out since I’m on facebook all the time but I’m determined. In order to help with the transition of no facebook I created this blog. 

Well enough about all the info on facebook and blah blah blah... really, I want to write for a moment now about my blog. I created a blog a while ago (like 2 years ago) but I was in Nursing school and never got around to really figuring it out and getting the hang of it. I think it will be better this time around, or at least I hope so. As you can see the title of my blog is “Life is an Adventure Worth Taking”. Honestly it was hard to come up with a title for the blog. A lot of my friends have just their names as their title and while I think it fits their blogs perfectly in a really cute way, I just couldn’t see that with mine. So I sat here thinking, man what should I name it. 

As I was contemplating different blog titles my mind drifted (which it does often lol) and I started thinking about where I’m headed next. Now that nursing school is done, and boards are out of the way all there is left is to get a job. Yep, I’m sending out applications like crazy but I have a feeling I won’t hear anything until after the holidays so I just have to be patient. Anyways, I was just thinking about my life and all the ups and downs and all the wonderful people I have met or that have been by my side through it all and I thought, this is definitely worth it. Everyday is a new adventure for all of us and you know what, it’s all worth it. Every single mistake, happy moment, tears shed, love.....all of it is worth it. 

So I wish all of you the joy in the journey through life. Every single moment is worth it and the ups and downs are just a part of the adventure and it is all worth it. I hope some of you visit my blog. If not, it’s alright, facebook is a bigger thing in people’s lives right now but deleting mine is just the start of a new adventure. It’s something I need to do and I’m happy about it. Those of you who read my blog will still see some of my quotes that I post on facebook a lot and once our kitchen is redone I will start sharing some recipes with you all as well. 

Just remember, Life is an Adventure Worth Taking so take it and enjoy the ride! :)

PS...eventually this is going to be a private blog but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. So far now, everyone can see but I’m warning you...going private very soon.
