I was reading one of the General Conference talks this morning about trials and it really put things into perspective, more so than before. The talk can be found here on the LDS. org website. I loved what he says that "Trials are not just to test us. They are vitally important to the process of putting on the divine nature". I had never really thought of it that way before but it's true. At times we think that God is giving us the hardest thing ever and that it's something we are weak in or think we may not be able to handle. I confess I've been there and sometimes feel as though I will fall but my loving Heavenly Father is always there to catch me and bring me up. He loves me and that's all that matters. Trials make us stronger and mold us into better people. I find myself now asking okay, what is this trial teaching me? And what I can I learn from it to share with others? Maybe that's why now I feel like my life is extremely difficult but haha it's okay because I'm learning a lot and my faith is growing stronger each and every day.
I re-read what I wrote on my Mormon.org profile and it reminded me that life is good and God loves each and everyone of us. (Check out my profile by clicking on the "I believe" button on this blog page!). Trials are really blessings in disguise :) Happy Sabbath Everyone!!

YSA Bike to the Beach...
So every year our singles ward does a Bike to the Beach event. This year we had about 16 (give or take a few) bikers and I'm proud of all of them!! Everyone but two biked 34 miles!!! The other two only did 24 miles but that's still pretty impressive!!! I didn't bike this year :( mainly because I knew they needed drivers so I offered to drive. I will bike next year though (if I'm still in the area ;) ) but overall it was a really good day!!! I was worried that the weather wouldn't be so great because the whole week before it was like 60 degrees and hardly any sunshine. I couldn't have asked for more perfect weather though. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!
I did learn my lesson though and have made a note to wear LOADS of sunscreen the rest of the summer because I didn't reapply and got sunburned on my face :( I have a really nice tan every where else though :) Here are some pictures from the fun day!!

Comments....
I need to blog about a lot of stuff. Bret's birthday being the main one but I also went to the beach yesterday with my ward... which is the reason I'm writing this quick post. I'll get around to blogging Bret's birthday later... hopefully tonight.
But really.... I wonder if people really think about things before they say them. I know I'm at fault for not thinking before I say it but really, if we all took a moment or two to listen to ourself and does what I want to say sound than maybe people wouldn't say things that are kind of ridiculous. Really there are two things I want to post about but I will just do one for sake of time.
I posted on facebook yesterday about how the beach was great and got a little too much sun but it will turn into a nice tan... and don't worry it will. Yes... I forgot to reapply sunscreen...won't happen again... I like keeping my skin intact and not getting burned. But today I had MORE than needed comments about my sunburn. My favorite is, "Wow, look you got sunburned" ..... really? As if I didn't already know that. Yes it irked me but no I'm not mad about it or venting ...just wanted to point out that maybe we should all listen to ourselves before we say it out loud because does that make sense to you? It doesn't to me because um, I already KNOW that I have a sun burn. I did get told today though that I have nice color and that I'm glowing so that's an upside. Point is.... think before you comment or at least rephrase... I literally got that line probably five or six times today.

Bret Turns 9!!!!
So Bret is turning nine this year!!! Crazy to think it's been 9 years since he was born! It seems like it was a lot longer than that! Strange to think that when he was born, I was a sophomore in high school and graduated when he was two. This kid brings lot's of fun and joy into our lives. He has SO much energy I wish I could capture some of it for myself haha. Here are some pictures of the birthday boy!! :)

Challenge Week 1=Fail!
Okay remember how I issued a challenge last week?? Well I have to admit that this week failed miserably, in the terms of exercising. I still ate pretty good.... which is normal for me but the exercising was a no go. Why? Because it was a super busy week at work and by the time I got home I was literally exhausted. Physically and emotionally. I know I know... that's life. I'm totally ready and pumped up for exercising this next week so I'll keep you posted!!! And thank you for those of you who are joining this challenge!! It helps to have someone doing it as well to keep me motivated!! :) I hope you all are having a GREAT weekend!!!

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day!! To all the wonderful moms, soon to be moms or future moms in my life!! I like to think even those of us who may never have a chance to carry a child or adopt or whatever it may be, we are all still moms to the kids around us. I love that there is a day just dedicated to mom's all over the world. It's a day to celebrate because after all, we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them! I know I wouldn't be and I'm grateful for my mom and all that she has done for me, I don't know what I would do without her!

Random Thoughts for the Week :)
* Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful
I know I've talked about this before but it's really been pressing on my mind. I admit that my feelings of self worth have been wavering slightly and part of that is just me being me but part of it is also from others. Over the years I have come to realize that I don't need to compare myself with anyone else. I'm me. And I'm perfectly happy being me. I encourage all girls to be their OWN kind of beautiful and nothing less!
*Biggest Loser Update
Wow. That's all I can say for the past few episodes. I was SHOCKED to see Rulon just leave! And I was kind of disappointed that they didn't send someone home last week. I really want Hannah in the final four but I'm not sure she will make it :/ Guess we'll have to see next week. I would really like Sarah to win the At Home challenge though and I think if she keeps up the exercise she just might! I mean after all her body fat % was really high! Hmm... can't wait to see what the next few weeks bring!!
*Listen to yourself and think before you act/talk
Okay so as most of you know I'm working a temp job as a secretary basically. I answer phones all day which is fine, I really don't mind it. This past week though I've had some pretty rude people on the phone and I'm like really? Do you hear what you are saying?? One guy even told me I was a liar. Um, no.... I'm telling you the truth. Obviously he hasn't read my blog posts about honesty haha. But seriously, do people not think before they talk?? Maybe it's just me, but most people think before they talk and rationalize it. Yeah we all have moments where we regret something we said but come on... not all the time. This week was a long week and I'm glad it's over. Those people made my day crazy.
*Laundry...
I have come to despise laundry. Seriously. I think there is some mysterious ghost or something that steals my socks and whatever else because I feel like every time I do laundry, I come back with something less. Crazy!
Alright and last but not least.... I'm issuing a challenge!!!!! YAY!! We love challenges right??
*Challenge
Okay so starting tomorrow I have exactly two months until my birthday. (It's a birthday I'm not really celebrating this year... getting old haha) but I want to issue a challenge because it will be SO much easier if I have people who motivate me and do it with me. So you ready?? My goal is to lose 20 pounds by my birthday. I figure I can do it, I just want to issue the challenge to others to see if they want to join. Any takers?? I will try to blog weekly about my progress. So starting next week (yeah yeah it's Mother's Day so we'll start on Monday) I will keep you updated on my exercising and eating healthy habits. I'm cutting out all fried foods and incorporating veggies and fruits galore!! I'm going to try VERY hard to stay away from processed foods as well (which is easier said than done!) I'm looking forward to this challenge :) I hope I have at least one challenge buddy to do this with! Besides... I gotta get back into shape anyways AND I need to look good for the summer haha :) Who's with me??

Life As I Know It....
Do you ever wonder if things would just be a whole lot easier if you knew exactly what was going to happen next in life? Where you are going, who you'll end up with and so on?? Sometimes I wish the picture of life was crystal clear, and sometimes it is, but most of the time, it's not. I believe it's meant to be that way on purpose but let me tell you, sometimes it's just plain frustrating as can be!!
Life as I know it...... is still a mystery! There are things as of recent that I thought were going in the right direction and what I thought God wanted me to do. As I've come to find out though, God likes to change things up and make life a little unique and kind of like a guessing game. :) I honestly can't tell you where I will be even three months from now. I have so many choices, opportunities that even now trying to decipher and pray and ponder about, I can't give anyone a straight answer. What I DO know, is that God loves me and whatever decision I make, He trusts me enough to make the right one. That's the hard part though, figuring out what the RIGHT one is. haha. But I believe that sometimes God lets us make the decisions on our own to see how it turns out in the end.
I've been praying for more patience as well, which at the same time, God has been trying my patience haha. I know I blogged a little about this in a previous post but I just feel like writing a bit about it now as well. I have always found myself to have enough patience to get through the daily things in life. I'm not going to lie though, patience did not come naturally to me. It was and is something that I have to work at each and every day. My Dad used to tell me that I need to marry someone with ALOT of patience because I don't have a lot haha. Which at the time was probably true but I'd like to think now that I have patience in ALL things. :) Patience is one of those things though that I find is vital to my health and well being. I find that when I'm impatient waiting for an answer to prayer or even my little brother getting out of the car, it doesn't help matters at all and I end up being cranky for no plain reason at all. I'm trying to perfect it but it's still a work in progress....probably will be my whole life but that's okay... I have something to work at each and every day.
Life as I know it is still the same but yet different in so many ways. I don't know where life is taking me next or what next adventure I will have but life is an adventure worth taking... I truly believe that!! And even if no one reads this...it feels good to write my thoughts down and reaffirm that I KNOW God has a plan for me....and I just have to be patient to find out what that plan is ;)
